The Unspoken Affection

It was fascinating. I was reminiscing about cuddling my wife last night when I realized how important the "unspoken affection" is. I come from a family who laughs, plays, pesters, pokes, hugs, cat piles and is generally fun. Our love is shown in word, deed, and physical contact (i.e. hug or gut punch there's a huge variety, *memory swooshing into mind* the time I stabbed Nate's leg with a pencil.... *grin*) I'm innocent!

Anyway, my wife comes from a split background. Her mother was loving and affectionate. Her dad apparently, when she was young, couldn't give a hug if he tried. *don't try to think how that's possible it's an exaggeration anyway*(that's my disclaimer if either of them read this) When I first met Heather, I gave her a hug. She latter recalled she was SO uncomfortable she stood there like a hotdog and just bared through the experience. (either that or I'm a sucky hugger.... but I don't believe it because I've been told otherwise.) Obviously since then much has changed. Heather isn't a total touchy person but is quite a sucker for some TLC once and a while. I realized buy being with her how important just a simple loving touch is and the power of a truly devoted kiss. If you haven't tenderly hugged a loved one today, do it. More importantly mean it. Although it's unspoken your wordless love will speak volumes to those who receive it. So make it good.

Turkey and the Cosmos

So as my family gathers around for the great turkey feast of happiness and gorging, we pause to reflect and give thanks for our many blessings. Then we proceed right into a discussion about Special Relativity it's social misapplication to morals and how eternity fits into all of this. To give you some of the brief points, I was studying Special Relativity for my college Public Speaking class so I could better talk on black holes. As I read more I realized the idea of, "It's okay for someone to do bad things because it's relative to their life and situations, so I can't judge." comes directly out of this physics principle. The problem with the "Social Relativity" is that it only takes half the idea; The part saying that what you see (or judge) will deepened on your frame of reference. The missing other half is that there are constants in the universe, absolutes, and facts. Without these the actual relativity idea would not work. Eventually this lead into how we perceive eternity and our immortal soul. :D

It was a great dinner. Next I got to go to my wife side of the family's festivius feast. There couldn't be a greater difference. Heather's family never talks about politics or religion. (My families two favorite subjects) The shy away from profound topics like above. Table conversation was more about peoples lives, the fantastic food, and events that happened to people. My wife Heather is the youngest of nine kids. Needless to say there are plenty of nephews and nieces! This gives me a perfect outlet to enjoy and have fun. I love to entertain and to educate and kids love to be on the receiving end. I got to play a funny form of keep away on roller blades with them and enjoy their imaginations. After many left I started to talk with Baily (10) (one of many nieces to heather) about Math. For a half hour I got to tutor and give fun math tips. So she'll mark a second student of mine. Amanda (another niece) is the first and I help out with Science and math.

Ahhh... science! Why wouldn't anyone want to blow things up?

So the great grand turkey day was a surprising dichotomy of family cultures. :D Thank heavens for NOVA!

As I launch into a whole new world....Sorta

So, here I am Watching as all my Friends make their own cool blogs to keep up with, share poignant thoughts, or share just the things in the day and I get only read it every so often. Yet it's such a good way to keep up with each other and connect. I knew I was going to start sometime.
Dang. they caught me!
Between job, college, and lovingly married (almost a year now!) I'll have tons of new and fun experiences I'll get to share along with old hilarious memories. Yet the time to share may not be as often as I hope. We shall see. These things can be addicting. So here of all things is my first post!

Next time I just might give you the history behind the title and fun updates. Also the fun highlight color that splotches my post as I spell check before publishing.
